The Future is COGENeration Conference & Workshops 2007
8-9-10 May 2007, Brussels

On 8-9-10 May 2007 COGEN Europe organised its Annual Conference “The Future is Cogeneration”. This major event is supported by the Intelligent Energy Executive Agency of the European Commission. The event consisted of three one-day Workshops (8 May) and a two-day Conference (9-10 May). The three Workshops took place simultaneously and focused on Micro CHP, Biomass CHP and Synergies between New Technologies. The Conference focused on the future for cogeneration in Europe and the consequences of implementing the EU Cogeneration Directive:
• Cogeneration in the European Energy Context
• The Potential for Cogeneration in the Member States and the Policies to Realise this Potential
• Market Outlook for Cogeneration
• Cogeneration Applications and Technologies



General Information

The Cogeneration Directive came into force 11 February 2004 and was due to be transposed by the Member States into national law by 21 February 2006. This event will inform and update on a European-wide scale cogeneration professionnals, policy-makers and end-users about the latest developments concerning the Cogeneration Directive and other actions in the EU and the 27 Member States that have been taken to promote cogeneration in Europe. The conference and workshops are supported by the Intelligent Energy Executive Agency of the European Commission.
