PEP-Net
will give support to the bundling and sharing of European
Research know how in three thematic interlinked areas: eco-buildings,
small polygeneration and renewable energy heating and cooling
technologies. Targeting researchers and technology experts,
manufacturers that could produce the new technologies, enterprises
that can apply them, planners and architects, and associations
of enterprises and other relevant actors, the proposed actions
will increase the level of information and know-how among
the relevant market actors regarding new RTD results of the
three thematic areas, help spur market implementation and
thus stimulate and facilitate transfer of knowledge regarding
RTD results and applications throughout Europe. Special attention
is also given to innovative technologies that have passed
the primary stage of demonstration, that are on the edge to
commercialisation with a promising market perspective. The
contribution of the action is thus directly guided towards
the Lisbon Strategy to make Europe the “most dynamic
and competitive knowledge economy in the world” and
where it asks for reinvigorated European research, to keep
research “an engine of economic and social progress”.
The horizontal cluster WP1 facilitates efficient project management,
creation and strengthening reliable partnerships of the network
team, transfer of experiences and reporting on the project
progress. The WP2 provides support in the frame of General
Promotion and Dissemination on cross-thematic issues and for
promotion of the network and its offers. The overall goal
of WP 3 is to accelerate the market introduction of results
of European (and partly national) resarch programmes related
to eco-building technologies with a focus on market introduction
of technical solutions for highly efficient office buildings
(resp. other tertiary buildings) with a focus on decrease
of cooling loads resp. efficient cooling approaches. and market
introduction of low-energy single family houses (with a focus
on prefabricated houses). The overall objective of WP 4 is
to facilitate market penetration of technical applications/solutions
related to “polygeneration technologies” within
the following technological focal areas of Trigeneration and
small scale applications and Micro CHP and innovative technologies,
including biomass. WP 5 deals with Renewable heating and cooling,
innovative storage systems and heat pumps and innovative technologies.
