Under the auspices of the 5th RTD Framework Programme the MITES project is ongoing. This project is led by Azienda Speciale AMG, Palermo, Italy. In Work Package 1 of this project is the production of a database on small scale cogeneration installations. COGEN Europe has been asked to sub-contract this item.

The project will design a database, collect data and build a good data set of small-scale cogeneration in Europe. The project is to collect information on cogeneration installations in the size range up to 10 MWe. All types of plant will be considered, and all EU countries, focussing on Spain, France, Germany, UK, Denmark, Italy and Greece. Data collection will be based on the year 1999 where possible, as this is the last year where a complete data set will available.

The database will be in three parts:
1. Database of installations;
2. Database of equipment suppliers and equipment options;
3. Database of efficiency and environmental performance.

An extended executive summary will be made available on this page and any other specified sites. Also, the non-commercial aspects of the database will be placed on this page.
